October Fun in Minnesota

Well, I can't upload any pictures right now so all you get is typing! I'll try again later.

Last week Alexis had three days off of school so I packed the girls up and headed to Minnesota. We got to Andrew and Lori's house on Wednesday night (after getting through over an hour of traffic). We had dinner with them and then Lori and I promptly left all four girls in Andrew's care to go to a stampin party (I think that is what it is called). We had lots of fun. We made three cards (for free!). I still like my scrapbooking best but I did enjoy making the cards with Lori. We went back to her house to put the girls to bed and then we left again for volleyball practice. Lori's church ward has a team and I tagged along. I don't think I have played volleyball in ten years, maybe more. It was fun but I bruised my right thumb and it turned purple and red. Leave it to me to get injured. It was gone by Monday though.

On Thursday we went to the Como Zoo with Carolyn (Ben's mom). The girls had a great time despite only seeing a few animals. There was a lot of maintenance going on so not so many animals on display. There were a lot of decorations up for Fall and a lot that had to do with fairy tales. The girls enjoyed posing in pictures for those.

On Friday we headed out to Schafer Corn Maze. This looked like an awesome place on the internet. It was a bit of a dissapointment for me but I think the girls loved it. There were some animals to pet (if they were close to the fence), a sack race, a rope maze, and a corn maze. The maze was pretty lame because the corn was all brown, yellow, and very thinned out. The girls thought it was fun though. We also went to a different place to pick out some pumpkins. Alexis was very particular about which pumpkin she was picking out. She walked all over the field and finally found one near the end of it. She even wanted the stem to be a particular length! Sheesh! We then enjoyed ice cream after all this fun and excitement!

Saturday we went trick or treating at a shopping district up by Lori's house. Audrey was originally going to be a ballerina but then changed quickly to a Cinderella costume that Lori let her borrow. Alexis was Jesse from Toy Story. They got lots of candy and enjoyed some on the way home.

We got home late Saturday night and Audrey had a high fever. She was sick all day Sunday and got fever blisters on her lips. But by Monday morning her fever was gone and she was eating everything in the house! What a weird 24 hour bug. Now I have a sore throat and some muscle soreness. I need one more week before I can get sick! I have Enrichment night on Tuesday and Audrey's birthday party on Saturday (next week). I can get sick after those events! :)
