11 Years Today

It was 11 years ago today that a 19 year old girl and a 22 year old boy got married for time and all eternity in the St. George temple. If you would have told me then that in 11 years I would own a home, my husband would have a good job, I would have two beautiful, intelligent, and hilarious girls I would have said, "That's exactly right!"

Our marriage has been an adventure. Here are some highlights:

We have lived in Hawaii, Mexico, Minnesota, California, and Wisconsin.

We have driven back and forth from California to Minnesota/Wisconsin four times. Every time it was a four day trip with children.

Our first daughter, Alexis, was born in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Riding our tandem bike around BYU-Hawaii campus and Stanford campus (the one we had at Stanford had a baby seat attached to the back).

Running a daycare out of our apartment at Stanford and having, in the Summers, up to four kids (Alexis made five).

Ben and I both tutoring in the evenings after running the daycare during the day.

During our BYU-Hawaii days: 39 cent hamburgers on Monday, 49 cent cheeseburgers on Thursdays, and the Food Bank on Fridays.

Stanford Athletic games.

Stanford Graduate Housing=small living quarters but really AWESOME playground area as our backyard. Also wonderful neighbors and weather.

Fall in Wisconsin=awesome piles of leaves for the girls to play in.

Winter in Wisconsin is cold but nothing is better than watching Ben and the girls playing outside in the snow for hours making forts and snowmen.

Road Trips.

My life is truly wonderful and blessed. Ben is my best friend and a truly wonderful husband. He is the best Dad too. Thank you, Ben, for sticking with me during my (ever increasing) crazy moods. Ben still makes me laugh after 11 years. I can't wait to see what the next year and years bring!
