Movies, the Capitol, and Cards Oh My

We headed to MN for Thanksgiving on Wednesday morning. The girls were amazing on the way up. We didn't have to stop once so we made it Ben's parent's house in 4 hours and 45 minutes. Sweet!

Wednesday night Carolyn (my mother-in-law) and I went to see the movie Australia. We both really liked it. It was almost three hours long but I really enjoyed it. Good actors and actresses and beautiful scenery and a wonderful, touching, romantic story. Thanks for going with me Carolyn!

Thanksgiving day was really nice. We ate early, around 12:30pm. The food was delicious, as it always is. Ben's dad is a wonderful cook and we always appreciate how hard he works to give everyone wonderful meals.

After our yummy lunch Lori and I went to see Twilight. We had both been waiting to see it together. We both read all the books in the series and were really excited to see the movie. Lori liked it and I am still undecided. I didn't hate it but I thought a couple of things were just wrong. I think I am going to go see it again with my friends Cynthia and Amy so I can try to decide then.

Alexis and Audrey had so much fun with Lilly and Abby. They did have some issues though. If any of you have girls you know that girls in threes do not work. Someone is always left out and gets their feelings hurt. So sometimes when they are all together it is more work than fun. But the next day they all ask when they will see each other again. GIRLS!

Friday morning I got up at 5am and headed to WalMart. It actually wasn't that crazy. There were plenty of people there but no one was crazy about what they were buying. I scored some awesome stuff for the girls, my parents, Ben, and myself! I also went to Kohls, Target, Barnes and Noble, and Office Depot. I got back to the house at 10:30am. It was super fun but next year if I have to go by myself I will take my MP3 player so that when I wait in the long check out lines I have something to listen to!

I got about a 30 minute nap and then Lori, Andrew, Lily, and Abby came over. We hung out all afternoon and played games. By 8pm I was ready to crash! But it was so worth it!

Saturday morning we went to the state capitol building. They had an art treasure hunt that was really fun. It was a beautiful building. The girls had a good time. After lunch Carolyn, Lori, and I took the girls to see Madagascar 2. I thought it was really funny and cute. They all seemed to enjoy it too. Lori and I went out shopping a little bit that night. We were so tired that it wasn't so much shopping but browsing and ambling. :) It was still fun though. We came back to the house and played cribbage (which we do every chance that we get) and watched Kung Fu Panda. I love spending time with Lori. You're the best!

Sunday morning we got up with the intention of going to sacrament meeting and then leaving to drive home. However, I looked at the weather report and there was a storm coming to Milwaukee so we headed home immediately. The roads were crowded and the weather worsened as we got closer to home so we were happy we left when we did!

Almost all my pictures are from our visit to the State Capitol. Enjoy.

So as you can tell we had a great Thanksgiving!
