Surgery

Audrey had her tonsils and adenoids taken out on August 30th. She was actually looking forward to it because she had had strep throat twice already in August. She felt very silly in her gown. She kept trying to run away from the camera.





Here we are waiting for Audrey to be taken away.


The surgery was a killer. Audrey had horrible reactions to the anti-nausea medicine they gave her. It made her throw up which caused her pain meds to quit working. We were finally able to get her home. She did fine the first night but as soon as she woke up she began throwing up for hours. She had to get new pain medicine. It was the worst 13 days. Audrey told me numerous times that she felt like she was going to die. It is truly horrible to watch your child be in so much pain.

Once she was fully healed she got a sinus infection that turned into pneumonia. Let's just say our month of September really stunk. However, she is all better and looking at her today you would never know she went through all of that. She is one tough customer.
