We had an eventful day today. Audrey and I headed out to Costco this morning to get new tires. On our way to Costco Audrey said, "Mom, I need to talk to you about tires on cars." She then proceded to grill me about how many tires are on a car and why there needs to be four tires on a car and what happens if you only have three tires and what happens if the tire goes flat, etc.
While we were watching the tires being put on she wanted to know why there was a silver part and I had to explain about hubcaps. Then she noticed the green on the air valve and Audrey asked about that. I told her what it was and she said, "I don't like that green part on the tire." She is so funny. Sometimes I really wonder how her brain works and why she likes the things she does.
This afternoon we had a tornado warning. The last 35 minutes of school the tornado bell actually went off and the kids had to stay in the bathroom/storm shelter. Alexis was so upset. She told me that she was crying and shaking because she had never been through a real tornado bell before. That is an awful way to end the school day! For the teachers too! Plus, there were two classes shoved together in one tiny space because a floor cleaning machine was in the space! I don't know why they didn't shove it in the hallway to make more room for the kids!
