Day 8--Monday, Part 4

The girls being very silly on a boardwalk in Mammoth. They were getting very tired at this point. It was around 2 or 3pm and they had been awake since 5am.

Neat geyser stuff.

After throwing a pretty impressive tantrum for around 10 minutes this is what Audrey did once we got back into the car. I even put the seat back so her head wouldn't fall forward. She slept for almost the whole way back to the house--an hour and a half. This is really impressive because my girls hardly ever sleep in the car. On all the road trips that we have been on I can count on one hand how many times they have actually feel asleep in the car. It doesn't matter how early we wake them up to leave they just don't sleep. So this was a rare moment.

Meanwhile, Alexis was chattering away in the back seat, acting like she was wide awake. So finally I gave her two pillows to lay on. She said, "I'm not sleepy." So I suggested she just take a rest. She laid her head down on the pillow and said, "This is so comfy!" One minute later I heard snoring.
